Tour of Kansas City Race Registration is Open

adminTour of Kansas City News

The Tour of Kansas City Omnium is now open for race registration!

This year, the Tour of Kansas City is running as an omnium. Depending on your category, omnium participants will be competing over the course of 2 or 3 days. The 3-day omnium is open to Pro 1/2 men, Cat 3 men, Pro 1/2/3 women, and juniors. The 2-Day omnium is open to all other race categories listed in the flyer.

There are a LIMITED number of spots available for the omnium events, especially the 3 day event. If you are wanting to compete in the full omnium weekend, you are advised to register early. With the TKC as part of the Flyover Series, MOBAR, USAC RDRS, and KBAR – there are a lot of teams traveling into town for this year’s event so fields will fill up. The Friday night prologue time trial is only open to those riders who are participating in the 3-Day omnium because of the short amount of time available to hold the evening event. As of now, there is no individual registration option for Friday night.

Registration is open first to those who want to sign-up for the full omnium. This is to ensure that individual daily entries do not fill up before riders who want to compete for the overall title get a chance to sign-up for all omnium events. Individual race registrations will open up once the omnium participants have had a chance to register.

The omnium registration payout listed on the omnium race registration page only includes the omnium series bonus payouts, individual race-day payouts can be found on the flyer.

We have put a lot of emphasis on growing both the women’s and youth aspects of our sport. We feel the inclusion of the women’s and junior fields in the 3 day omnium, at the expense of a couple of other categories, is important in drawing in more junior and female teams to the event, and the sport. You may also notice that the women’s payouts have been increased significantly, more than doubled, from previous year’s payouts. In fact, the women’s fields will be competing for a higher prize list than the men’s fields this year. More information about the women’s race payout increase can be found HERE.

We hope to see you at this year’s event and look forward to a fun and exciting race weekend!
